Teacher of English & Maths Functional Skills

I started with EMBS in February 2023. Before this I was employed by Buckinghamshire Council as an ESOL & Functional Skills teacher and Curriculum Coordinator. Before that, I worked for Aylesbury College as an ESOL teacher. I have been employed by various other organisations, in similar roles. After the ‘lockdown’ I worked as a Supply Teacher in secondary schools throughout Buckinghamshire. Before moving into teaching, I worked as a benefits claims assessor for local authorities, mainly in London where I lived until 2017.

I graduated from the University of Greenwich in 1999; I studied Cultural Geography.

In my spare time I like to write and record my own Christian songs. I also read a lot and I like to play chess.

«I arrived in this country four months ago, without any confidence in my English and really scared to be an independent person at sixteen. I didn't know what my next steps were since the education in my country is really different. One day, my aunt bought me to EMBS.
