I started at EMBS in 2021 as an ESOL Teacher and became a Learning and Wellbeing Coordinator in 2023. Now I work as both the Learning and Development Manager and as an ESOL Teacher in the Adult building in Oxford.
In my role as an ESOL teacher, I primarily work with students on our Level 1 English courses but I have also worked with our Entry Level students too.
As the college’s Learning and Development Manager, I prepare and organise teacher training for our diverse team of teachers. It involves working with new teachers finding their feet at the college, preparing team day training sessions for our teachers from all our 3 college sites and making sure that EMBS is at the forefront of teaching in our sector.
I am originally from Dublin in Ireland but I have been teaching English in Oxford since 2018. As well as working at EMBS, I have taught English in primary schools, universities, private language centres and further education in France, South Korea, Colombia and Ireland.
I started teaching in 2012 and I am both DELTA and CELTA qualified. I love working with languages and it’s an absolute pleasure to help our learners reach their language goals on a daily basis. I’m really interested in language teaching and language learning and I speak a range of different languages. I’m always trying to learn how to say things in different languages.
In my teaching, I believe in putting confidence and personalisation at the core of my practice.
In my free time, I love to be outdoors walking, running and swimming.
