I’ve been teaching at EMBS since 2017 and have taught at every level in Adults and Sixth form over my time here. My background is in teaching ESOL/EFL on university study programmes, in further education, local community groups and 1-1 tutoring. I studied Chinese at university so I fully appreciate the difficulties of language learning and I am interested in the research and practice of second language acquisition. I have huge respect for our students who are taking on this challenge.
My role as ESOL Team Leader is very varied and rewarding. I support the teachers to be the very best practitioners they can, develop course content that is relevant and useful to our students and support the day to day running of the Adult Learning centre. I’m happiest in the classroom helping students from every background improve their English and Maths skills, their
confidence and developing a sense of community and belonging at EMBS.
I’m delighted to contribute to making EMBS a community that gives our students the skills, qualifications, sense of belonging and confidence they need to thrive. Working with such incredible students is a real privilege and I think I learn the
most!
When I’m not in college, I can be found swimming in the lake by my house, sewing a handmade wardrobe or trying to grow flowers and vegetables in my garden.
